Our wooden plates are made from hardwood and a unique patterned plywood making them long-lasting and are more durable than traditional ceramic plates. Each wooden plate is coated with an Italian food-safe polish from ICA and is safe for hot food and most gravies(except turmeric).

Each wooden plate takes over an hour to craft from a block of wood, turn on the lathe, sand and finish into a handmade wooden dinner plate or quarter plate. The intricate design of the patterned plywood plate takes even longer as it involves 3 separate steps of resawing and gluing to create the diamond-shaped pattern with each layer of wood clearly visible. • Dinner plate sizes: Diameter - 10.5 - 11 inches approx; Weight - 250 gms / 0.55 lbs to 500 gms / 1.1 lbs depending upon wood type.
• Side plate sizes: Diameter - 7 inches approx; Weight - 100 gms / 0.22 lbs to 200 gms / 0.44 lbs depending upon wood type.

• Turmeric based food and gravies will leave a yellow stain on the wooden plates. This is a natural product and turmeric seeps into the wood grain and leaves a yellow stain.
  
• Do not put in a dishwasher, hand wash using soapy water and dry immediately. Do not leave it soaked in water in the sink for long periods of time.
• Do not put in a microwave. This is a natural wooden product and heating it in a microwave is not safe.
• Do not expose to harsh sunlight or under extreme heat for long periods of time.
  
• Keep dry. Store in a clean dry area.
